Transforming TN’s Healthcare: etHIN Is Now Tennessee Health Information Exchange (TnHIE)
To reflect our continued growth throughout the state, we are pleased to announce that East Tennessee Health Information Network (etHIN) is changing its name. Going forward, etHIN will be known as Tennessee Health Information Exchange (TnHIE).
“This change represents an important step in our growth and evolution,” said Pam Matthews, CEO of TnHIE. “As our services, participants, and geographic coverage expanded across the state, it became clear that our name should reflect the customers that we serve. TnHIE will continue its core mission of supporting high-quality patient care and safety, while helping to reduce healthcare costs through secure, electronic, and interoperable services. At the same time, we are looking ahead to embrace new and innovative technologies to serve our participants more effectively.”
Matthews emphasized that while the name is changing, the organization’s commitment to healthcare providers and other participant communities remains unchanged. TnHIE will continue delivering the trusted, high-quality data services that have helped providers and other participants improve care for more than 14 years.
“The Board is very enthusiastic about this new chapter for TnHIE,” said TnHIE Board Chair J. Clay Callison, MD. “TnHIE is a crucial partner for healthcare organizations across Tennessee. As we move forward, clinicians statewide will benefit from the high‑quality data and services we have relied on for many years.”
“We’re excited to continue this important work under our new name,” Matthews added. “We deeply appreciate the dedication of our healthcare community, participants, collaborators and partners as we begin the next chapter of Tennessee Health Information Exchange (TnHIE).”
